Adroit Engineering Project

The Ravensworth North Project was an alliance contract between QCC Resources and Glencore, spanning four years and delivered the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) for Glencore’s Ravensworth Mine. The project delivered two 900t/h coal preparation plant modules as well as associated raw and product handling facilities.

Adroit Engineering offered services to QCC Resources and was responsible for the design of the ROM materials handling system, which included developing different materials handling options for client review. The scope of work included tying in to the existing ROM dump, a number of overland conveyors, ROM stockpile with linear luffing stacker and reclaim tunnel as well as new secondary and tertiary sizing stations. Moving into detailed design Adroit Engineering delivered the rejects materials handling system. This system incorporated a series of six conveyors varying in length from 25m to 2km. The scope of work involves dynamic analysis of the longer conveyors and discrete element modelling (DEM) of the transfer points.
